Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt, March 10th
This is the Comal Co. courthouse in New Braunfels.
This is the DeWitt Co. courthouse.
This is the Fort Bend County courthouse in Richmond.
This is the LaVaca County courthouse in Hallettsville.
This is the Parker County courthouse in Weatherford.
This last one is the Tarrant County courthouse in Fort Worth.
I'd like to make an album of these photos someday---it's always someday! But I want to be able to sort them out in some logical way. I bet I'll have to make a few albums, even if it's only one or two pictures per county.
Anyway, I enjoy this kind of architecture, and look for it on any driving trips I take. I do take pictures of state capitol buildings, too. There is great variety in the courthouses---but you can see I prefer these of a certain era! The one in the town I now live in, the county seat, is a big gray cube of a building, and not very interesting, in my opinion. I don't know what to expect when I do go west since some of those counties have such a small population. They may not be as impressive as some of these.
Next week's theme is Drink. Interesting!
Take a look at my 363 blog, link on the sidebar. I'll be updating this one today, for pictures of this week. I got some good ones yesterday at the kids' Dual Language Birthday Party. We celebrated with cake and Pinatas. Maybe worth it's own post later in the day. :-)

I love old courthouses too! Here in Indiana there are so many of them- and most are built of Indiana limestone. Great shot!

An impressive set of fancy buildings you have here! And the idea is pretty fascinating - never thought of getting pictures of as many somethings as possible :)

After visiting so many Photo Hunters today, it makes you realize how many brilliant architects there have been and still are in this world! Fabulous buildings you showed us today!!

How interesting that you want to photograph all of the courthouses in Texas. I'm close to El Paso, so I should do it for you and send the photo. Have a great weekend!

Great photos. I can't imagine how long it must have taken them to build brick buildings!

What a wonderful (and overwhelming!) project--taking photographs of all the old courthouses in Texas. There's an old county courthouse close to where I live in Georgia that I just love. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for visiting!
